I was born in Durango on June 1, 1948, in the Old Mercy Hospital. My family lived on North Main where I attended Animas Elementary (now a Museum). Then I went to the newly-opened Miller Middle School where I played all sports and had some great teachers! I then attended Durango High where I graduated in 1966. After one year at Fort Lewis I transferred to Colorado University for four years studying architecture and arts with electives in Sociology and Anthropology as well as Art. After a very successful career in designing and building custom homes, I retired about six years ago. This allowed me to continue my art, spending much more time painting. I’ve been doing art since I was five and plan to continue till I die!
